A highlight of this year was September's Business School Professions Week Kickoff Panel, moderated by the Chamber featuring local entrepreneurs and successful businesspeople. The panel focused on sharing details of what it is like to live, thrive, and do business in Tompkins County with dozens of students and faculty members. CFCU Chamber Advantage Deals The Chamber and CFCU Community Credit Union have partnered to bring a shop local, save local program to our community for four years. The CFCU Chamber Advantage program has 50 local deals that help consumers and businesses save at local retailers, eateries, and businesses. In 2017, the Chamber relaunched the website and has seen an overall increase in traffic to the deals. See more at www.cfcuchamberadvantage.com. Total event attendance surpassed 6,000 in 2017! Membership & Programs Event Involvement The Tompkins Chamber implements a number of programs, initiatives, and events each year that support our mission. Their success relies on the generosity of our members and business partners, so thank you to the 79 hosts, caterers, and event sponsors. Our monthly events included Networking at Noon, Business After Hours, and Roundtable Discussions. Special events included the Annual Dinner & Awards Ceremony, the Gorges Ithaca Half Marathon, Chamber Golf Tournament, and the Great Big Chamber Auction. Thank you, Ambassadors! In 2017 the Ambassadors were instrumental in new member development, as well as helping to create great networking experiences for new and prospective members at events throughout the year. A special thank you to Marshall McCormick, who has chaired the group with great enthusiasm, and to Ron Provus, who has been instrumental in helping us to grow and sustain our membership and events. 2017 Membership Updates From craft breweries to tech companies expanding to Tompkins County, we welcomed 65 new members in 2017. We've started building partnerships, and delivering value to our new members through networking connections, direct support, and sharing their stories with the community.
