Workforce Development & Professional Development Resources OJT Grant Program In 2016, the Chamber's On-the-Job Training Grant Program provided 21 businesses and 8 non-profit organizations $114,000 in grant fund- ing to support on the job training needs of 28 new employees and 10 retained employees. The Chamber has been awarded another grant for 2017 and continues to play a key role in addressing business and non-profit organization workforce training needs. Tompkins Connect Young Professionals The Chamber and United Way continue to partner as sponsors of this fantastic group of young professionals. Tompkins Connect holds monthly networking sessions, effectively recruits new members, spon- sors the Jump on Board event annually, and continues to grow as a resource to support workforce recruitment efforts county-wide. Fab 5 Young Professionals Awards The first ever Fab 5 Young Professionals Awards were held in 2016, sponsored by Tompkins Trust Company, and supported in large part by work of the Chamber staff. Recognizing five noteworthy young professionals in categories such as business leader, non-profit leader, entrepreneur, volunteer, and "rookie of the year", these awards are a great way to celebrate our ambitious young professional workforce. 9
