Sharing your Stories E-Blast Off! Our E-Blast program, which started in October of 2015, took off this year. We sent 63 e-blasts for a wide range of members, including law offices, gyms, restaurants and retailers. The emails, which members can buy to send a personalized email to the membership, had an average open rate of 24%. Marketing Internship In September of 2016, the Chamber hired Deanna Alvarez as a Marketing and Events Intern. She has done great work with the Chamber this year, working with us on projects like designing and implementing several info- graphics and brochures, helping during the M&T Great BIG Chamber Auction, and putting together emails for our Shop Local Campaign. Chambergram Changes The Chamber implemented a major change in 2016 to a long time main stay of our marketing efforts. We moved all of the Chambergram content into digital space, cre- ating a blog on the Chamber website to host the articles and stories that make up the digital newsletter, rede- signing the Chambergram email format, and prioritizing our members. Because of this change, we were able to feature over 150 member stories, news, and events since March! Shop Local: Prioritizing our Economy In the fall of 2016, the Chamber launched a comprehen- sive Shop Local campaign, showcasing members that have unique offerings for holiday shopping. The cam- paign included radio ads that featured local business- people Tory Jenis, owner of Blackbird Studio, Bettsie Ann Park, owner of 15 Steps, Peter Parkes, owner of Benjamin Peters, speaking about why shopping local is important. Our biggest group of fans on facebook are women between 25 and 54. In 2016 we had 28,864 unique users on our site. Reformatting the Chambergram increased average click-through from 6.1% to 27.8% 12
